About The Position

The Loader Operator operates a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas. This role will function as a Plant Feeder Operator and may include maintenance and housekeeping of the feeder and plant area as needed.

Requirements

  • 12 months of loader operator experience with 980M/982M loaders
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills.
  • Proven safety record.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High school / GED

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operates loader by starting the engine, shifting gears, pressing pedals, and turning the steering wheel.
  • Moves levers to lower and tilt the bucket, drives the front-end loader forward to force the bucket into bulk material.
  • Moves levers to raise and tilt the bucket when filled, drives the vehicle to the work site, and moves levers to dump material.
  • Performs assignments outlined by supervisors and follows standard procedures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Maintains effective communication with supervisors and customers.
  • Performs Pre-Shift Inspections: Inspects the batch plant to ensure a smooth start-up for the day.
  • On a daily basis, inspects gates for proper functionality, all drive belts and conveyor belts, and all trough and return rollers.
  • Responsible for batch plant clean up and properly storing and securing all tools and equipment after use.
  • Daily inspection of the Water/Boiler System and air systems. Follows proper start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • On a weekly basis, maintains cleanliness of the site by vacuuming the batch plant office floor, emptying all trash cans in the office, and cleaning bathrooms in the plant office.
  • Ensures on a weekly basis that all areas of the plant are greased and equipped to accept grease.
  • Inspects all bearings on the batch plant.
  • On a monthly basis, inspects the Dust Collector to ensure it is in proper operating condition.
  • On a quarterly basis, checks oil in all gear boxes and checks all drive belts associated with the gear box.
  • Partakes in annual oil change and updates all drive belts associated with the gear box.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and exhibits these behaviors.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Ensures clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face if required to wear a respirator, to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
