Requirements

Less than a High School Diploma
Related construction experience
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Responsibilities

Operates a rubber-tired, skid steer, or crawler type tractor with an attached scoop type bucket on front end to load materials from stockpiles, excavation, charging batch plants, and loading/unloading trucks.
May be used with attachments in lieu of the bucket.
Starts engines, moves throttles, switches, and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines.
Signals truck drivers to position trucks for loading.
Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
May oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine.
Makes necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Performs other duties as assigned.
