About The Position

This is a Local 49 Operating Engineer Union position. The role primarily involves operating a loader to feed a mobile asphalt plant. Responsibilities may also include operating other equipment for plant maintenance and grounds upkeep, as well as performing hand work related to plant upkeep. This is a seasonal position that typically requires travel throughout Northern Minnesota and North Dakota, with other work locations as assigned. Lodging assistance, usually in the form of a Per Diem, is provided.

Requirements

• A strong desire to work safe
• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Critical thinking skills
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Knowledge and/or experience with a variety of heavy equipment

Nice To Haves

• CDL preferred
• 3+ Years work with a loader in a plant/feeding environment or similar experience strongly preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Operate a loader to feed a mobile asphalt plant.
• Operate other equipment to maintain the asphalt plant and pit grounds.
• Perform maintenance of equipment.
• Perform hand work related to plant upkeep.
