The Load Planner is responsible for building, planning, and assigning daily outbound and inbound shipments. This role optimizes routing and equipment utilization to ensure timely and efficient delivery while minimizing transportation costs. The Load Planner will review orders, consolidate shipments, and determine the best mode and carrier assignment, ensuring alignment with required delivery dates and customer-specific guidelines. This position involves significant communication with carriers, warehouse operations, and customer service to confirm load details and resolve scheduling conflicts. The Load Planner will also monitor in-transit loads, ensuring on-time performance and proactively addressing any delays or accessorial issues. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate shipment data in TMS and supporting systems, validating necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with company SOPs, carrier contracts, and customer routing guides. Performance tracking and continuous improvement are key aspects, involving the analysis of KPIs and identification of process improvements.
