About The Position

Journey Dance Competition is seeking reliable and energetic individuals to join our Load In/Out Team for our events. This role involves assisting with the setup and breakdown of production equipment and décor at various event venues. This includes assisting our onsite team with unloading the truck, moving cases and bins, setting up lobby signage and taping cables. This position requires punctuality, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude. While we provide training for all necessary tasks, we seek individuals who take the initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Shifts are typically Friday (8 hours) and Sunday (5 hours). The role involves travel to the event, loading in equipment, and setting up the venue on Thursday/Friday, and late-night load out on Sunday to pack everything up for the next weekend. This is seasonal employment with the Journey Dance Competition Tour, running from January to July.

Requirements

  • Must be available for Mandatory Team Training; Virtual - December 11-13th, 2026; In Person - Jan. 8-10, 2027
  • Must be willing to travel by road or air
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must be available Fridays and Sunday evenings
  • Official government ID required
  • Background check required
  • Availability on Fridays & Sundays
  • Capable of thriving under pressure and adapting to evolving circumstances in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation to and from event locations
  • Capable of lifting a min 30 lbs to 50 lbs without assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive is a plus
  • Dance/Entertainment industry background is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with load in and load out production equipment
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with the onsite team to meet event schedules
  • Attend to all other duties assigned by the Event Director(s) as needed
