About The Position

The Load Controller must work accurately and quickly within the Warehouse Management System to maintain a balanced flow of load packets, manage dock doors, and communicate effectively with all internal/external departments to meet departure dates and times for customer deliveries. This includes completing reports and preparing all paperwork neatly and accurately. The Load Controller will assist the Shipping Supervisor in any way needed to keep shipping moving smoothly without downtime.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, production, and management personnel.
• Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.
• Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry.
• Ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in warehousing or distribution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare current and next day load packets and load status sheets neatly without errors using Company-based and Microsoft Office software.
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with all internal and external departments (e.g., Sales, Scheduling, Transportation, Traffic, Billing, Material Handling, FSQA, Safety, Maintenance).
• Work up and prepare load add-ons, load ahead, and make corrections on current orders/loads for the current day if applicable.
• Perform all WMS functions needed to prepare and complete loads for shipping.
• Keep work area clean.
