About The Position

The Living Skills Educator will provide instruction and support to consumers in various aspects of daily living, financial literacy, job skills, and social development. This role involves encouraging community engagement, ensuring a safe living environment, and advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities. Administrative duties include scheduling meetings, completing documentation, and submitting timesheets.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assist consumers with routine tasks such as meal/menu preparation, grocery shopping, grooming, and bathing.
• Educate consumers on basic money management principles.
• Support consumers in acquiring essential job skills and fostering positive social interactions.
• Encourage participation in local community events.
• Help maintain and promote a safe and clean living environment for consumers.
• Advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities, empowering them to make their own life choices, exercise their rights, and fully engage in community life.
• Schedule and conduct meetings with consumers to ensure monthly hour requirements are met.
• Complete all necessary documentation and daily logs as specified by support services.
• Submit accurate timesheets for each workday.
