About The Position

Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. This role involves patrolling industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates. The position requires responding to alarms, investigating disturbances, and monitoring surveillance cameras. Additionally, the Guard will write reports of daily activities and respond to emergencies by calling police or fire departments when necessary. Providing excellent customer service to clients and the public is a key aspect of this role, as is enforcing rules and apprehending or evicting violators when required. The role also includes responding to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or obtaining assistance from paramedics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)
• Guard Card required
• Knowledge of Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Knowledge of English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Patrol industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Monitor surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Use provided communication devices to relay information in a clear and concise manner.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Provide satisfactory customer service to clients and other members of the public.
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.
• Follow post orders and all other relevant site-related information.
• Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics.
