Requirements

  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Computer skills required.

  • Excellence in livestock evaluation/handling.

  • Packers and stockyards regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Johnsonville animal welfare guidelines are met by monitoring the proper handling of livestock in plants. This includes completing the required Johnsonville humane handling feedback documentation.
  • Ensure that all livestock received into the facility are handled in accordance with USDA, NAMI, and Johnsonville animal welfare guidelines.
  • Ensures livestock lots are ready to accommodate plant schedule.
  • Ensure that all animals are inspected by USDA.
  • Identify lots and ensure proper order for harvest which will maximize processing efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance to USDA requirements relative to holding livestock including availability of water and feed when warranted.
  • Assist in developing strategies to maximize profits. Identify concerns and opportunities professionally when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of our business at all times.
  • Must complete in-house animal welfare training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
