About The Position

This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. With data fusion and mission management capabilities for the Department of Defense, the combatant commands and the intelligence community, HII advances the mission around the globe. Leadership at HII is a mindset, not a title. Through our Leadership Capability Framework, we define how every employee grows, leads, and contributes—regardless of role. It sets the standard for how you can develop yourself and what you can expect from leaders across our organization. We look for candidates who want to grow in alignment with these capabilities: Know & Grow Your People, Build Relationships, Take Ownership, Customer First, Shape the Future, Act with Urgency. These capabilities guide how all employees contribute to our shared success across Mission Technologies. This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. The SkillBridge intern will train as a LVC Mission Planner, supporting HII Mission Technologies’ Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) contract and related business areas. The transitioning service member will be fully qualified to serve as an LVC Mission Planner, capable of independently leading mission planning, execution, and debrief cycles for the 132nd CTS/DTOC while integrating live, virtual, and constructive training environments in support of Air National Guard and USAF combat readiness. Under the supervision of HII Program Managers, and technical leads, the transitioning service member will gain hands‑on experience in LVC Mission Planning & Execution, Technical Integration & Troubleshooting, and Tactical Advisory & Instruction. All work products will be reviewed, validated, and released exclusively by HII employees to ensure full compliance with DoD SkillBridge and representation restrictions. HII Mission Technologies will benefit from the intern’s operational insight, maintenance expertise, and disciplined approach to technical data accuracy and sustainment readiness. SkillBridge interns do not represent HII to DoD or Government customers. All work performed is training only and reviewed, validated, and released solely by HII employees. Training will be conducted remotely or from an HII office, not on military installations. Interns may participate in real PM/BD tasks as long as they do not perform billable work, do not independently deliver products to customers, do not act as HII representatives, and all customer interactions occur through HII employees only.
