About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching a new Whatnot channel, Bargain Lane Live, and is seeking a dedicated individual to anchor their weekday live selling operations. This role is focused on live selling, similar to QVC or an auctioneer, rather than content creation. The host will be responsible for moving product, engaging viewers, and maintaining high energy during live shows. The position is based in a Fort Wayne warehouse and runs Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

• Ability to talk and hold a room on camera for extended periods without fading.
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle challenging situations like slow bids or dead chat.
• Strong closing skills; ability to not just describe but sell items.
• Ability to quickly read a crowd and understand audience preferences.
• Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
• Ability to take feedback and improve.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Whatnot experience is not required.
• Caution is advised regarding candidates who already run their own resale channels.

Responsibilities

• Host live Whatnot shows alongside a show assistant.
• Stay on camera for the full show, maintaining a non-stop auction cadence.
• Describe items quickly and effectively.
• Open bids and engage with the chat by name.
• Celebrate viewer wins.
• Maintain high energy levels throughout the show.
• Participate in post-show debriefs and accept feedback.

Benefits

• Base Pay: $14.50-$16.00/hr
• Uncapped Performance Bonuses
• Paid for the full 8.5-hour shift (1.5 hr inventory prep + 5 hr live show + 2 hr post-show packing/shipping).
• Show Bonus Tiers based on Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV): Tier 1 (+$25 for $2,000–$2,999), Tier 2 (+$50 for $3,000–$4,999), Tier 3 (+$100 for $5,000+).
