About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching a new Whatnot channel called Bargain Lane Live. This is a part-time role for someone who can host live selling shows on the Whatnot platform. The role involves being on camera for 5-hour shows, selling over 350 items per show with a fast-paced, auction-style cadence. The host will describe items quickly, engage with the chat, celebrate wins, and maintain high energy throughout the show. This is a live selling role, similar to QVC or an auctioneer, focused on driving sales through performance and energy, not content creation. The shows run Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Fort Wayne warehouse.

Requirements

• Ability to talk and hold a room on camera for five hours without fading.
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle slow bids, dead chat, or awkward silence.
• Strong closing skills; ability to sell items, not just describe them.
• Ability to read a crowd fast and pivot to audience preferences.
• Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
• Ability to hustle for tips or commissions.
• Willingness to take feedback and improve.
• Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Whatnot experience is not required.
• Caution is advised regarding candidates who already run their own resale channels.

Responsibilities

• Host live Whatnot shows for 5 hours per show.
• Sell over 350 items per show with a non-stop auction cadence.
• Describe items quickly and effectively.
• Open bids and engage with the chat by name.
• Celebrate viewer wins.
• Maintain high energy levels throughout the live shows.
• Work alongside a show assistant who handles inventory flow.

Benefits

• $14.50-$16.00/hr base pay.
• Paid for a full 8.5-hour shift (1.5 hr inventory prep + 5 hr live show + 2 hr post-show packing/shipping).
• Uncapped performance bonuses based on show Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).
• Tier 1 bonus: +$25 when show GMV reaches $2,000–$2,999.
• Tier 2 bonus: +$50 when show GMV reaches $3,000–$4,999.
• Tier 3 bonus: +$100 when show GMV clears $5,000, uncapped.
• Full-time role from day one.
