About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching a new Whatnot channel called Bargain Lane Live and is seeking a dedicated individual to anchor their weekday live selling operation. This role involves hosting live shows Monday through Thursday from their Fort Wayne warehouse, selling a continuous supply of inventory. The ideal candidate will be energetic, engaging, and capable of moving product quickly while maintaining a high level of viewer interaction. This is a live selling role, similar to QVC or an auctioneer, focused on driving sales through energetic and fast-paced presentations.

Requirements

• Ability to talk and hold a room on camera for five hours without fading.
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle slow bids, dead chat, or awkward silence.
• Ability to sell items effectively, not just describe them.
• Ability to read a crowd fast and pivot to audience preferences.
• Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
• Ability to take feedback and improve.
• Willingness to be trained on the Whatnot platform.
• Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Live Show window) at the Fort Wayne warehouse.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Whatnot experience is not required.
• Cautious about hiring people who already run their own resale channels.

Responsibilities

• Host live Whatnot shows alongside a show assistant.
• Stay on camera for the full show duration (5 hours).
• Describe and auction over 350 items per show with a non-stop auction cadence.
• Engage with the chat by name.
• Celebrate viewer wins.
• Maintain high energy levels throughout the show.
• Prepare for shows, including inventory prep and post-show packing/shipping.

Benefits

• Base Pay: $14.50-$16.00/hr
• Uncapped Performance Bonuses
• Paid for the full 8.5-hour shift (1.5 hr inventory prep + 5 hr live show + 2 hr post-show packing/shipping).
• Show Bonus Tiers: Tier 1 (+$25 for $2,000–$2,999 GMV), Tier 2 (+$50 for $3,000–$4,999 GMV), Tier 3 (+$100 for $5,000+ GMV).
