Requirements

• Ability to stand and use hands for up to 8 to 10 hour shifts.
• Ability to apply common sense and comprehend basic instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Ability to work in a changing environment.
• Must be observant and highly responsive.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination.

• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Rotate within the department, which could include live hanging, crates, forklift operation, and backup for the finishing machine.
• Monitor the kill machine to ensure all birds are properly killed before entering the scalding process (Back-Up Stabber).
• Place empty drawers into the MODs and detect defects in drawers and MODs during the insertion process (Drawer Inserter).
• Deliver birds to the line at a rate of 26 birds per minute using proper hanging techniques in accordance with Pilgrim’s Animal Welfare Policies (Live Hang).
• Train others with acquired skills and knowledge.
• Observe all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and cooperate effectively with coworkers and leadership.
• Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks.
• Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits.
• Participate in process improvement and problem-solving.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
