About The Position

This position involves standing for approximately 8 hours per day while hanging birds onto an overhead shackle line. The role requires using two hands to grasp live chickens by the legs, taking care not to bruise them or break any parts. The successful candidate will lift the chicken and turn it upside down with the breast facing away, with the ability to hang at least 28 birds per minute that weigh approximately 5-10 pounds. This role requires working at a fast pace for the entire shift, in a cold, hot, damp, and dusty environment, with dim and ultraviolet fluorescent lighting, and around a minimum amount of dust and/or ammonia from live birds. The job also involves repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, and turning. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor will also be part of the role.

• Wear all required safety equipment.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace for the entire shift.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and some weekends as production requires.
• Must be able to work in a cold, hot, damp and dusty environment.
• Must observe all required hygiene & safety procedures at all times.
• Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
• The job requires repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, & turning.
• Must comply with all policies and rules.
• Must be able to work in a dim and ultraviolet fluorescent light.
• Must be able to work around a minimum amount of dust and or ammonia from live birds.
• Must be able to perform other duties within the department as required.
