About The Position

This position involves standing for approximately 8 hours per day while hanging live chickens onto an overhead shackle line. The role requires using two hands to grasp live chickens by the legs, taking care not to bruise them or break any parts. The team member will lift the chicken and turn it upside down with the breast facing away. The ability to hang at least 28 birds per minute, each weighing approximately 5-10 pounds, is necessary. This role requires wearing all required safety equipment and performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor. The job demands working at a fast pace for the entire shift, with flexible hours and some weekends as production requires. The environment can be cold, hot, damp, and dusty, with dim and ultraviolet fluorescent lighting. Team members must observe all required hygiene and safety procedures at all times, and the job involves repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, and turning. Compliance with all policies and rules is mandatory. The role also requires working around a minimum amount of dust and/or ammonia from live birds and performing other duties within the department as required.
