About The Position

Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire a Live Production Engineer to add to our growing Events Production team. The ideal candidate will have experience in live production, including live sound, lighting, monitors, and video, and will be willing to continue to learn. Our productions cover a variety of performance types including concerts, lectures, multimedia presentations, and live streams. Our productions occur in our many performance spaces including; Performance Theater, Performance Pavilion, Training Center, Crescendo Stage, various meeting rooms, conference halls, and other spaces. You will set up, tear down, and assist in the production of these events. You should already have a strong understanding of all aspects of live production (stage work, sound, lights, and video). You also need streaming experience and knowledge of the technology involved in this field. This job will include working early mornings and occasionally on evenings and weekends. Schedule flexibility is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform live production roles (sound/lights/monitor/stage manager/video) for any event on campus
  • Provide AV support to on-site and occasional off-site events and meetings
  • Work under the direction of the Senior Manager of Artist Relations & Campus Productions along with our Event Productions Lead and Event Productions Coordinator.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of live production from basic AV to full concert production.
  • Learn venues, processes and equipment around the Sweetwater Campus.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and performance venues
  • Participate in Production development and always work at evolving processes and practices for better production.
  • Using video software to create bumpers and videos for production and distribution
  • Use software to playback and edit media presentations and videos
  • Use control interfaces, hardware and software to manipulate video cameras and broadcast equipment
  • Use digital consoles, wireless technology, microphones, etc for audio production
  • Effectively communicate with vendors, community organizations, artists, outside production teams, and Sweetwater leaders regarding technical needs
