About The Position

Earth Angels Home Care is seeking dedicated Live-In Caregivers in the Antigonish area to join their team. They have been helping seniors and others in Nova Scotia thrive in the comfort of their own homes for over 20 years. The role involves building meaningful connections, offering a helping hand, and brightening someone's day. The company emphasizes providing skilled, compassionate, and ethical care.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in hands-on caregiving, preferably including live-in or dementia care.
  • Fluent English, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Willing to learn and open to training and continuing education.

Nice To Haves

  • Driver’s license preferred (car optional).

Responsibilities

  • Provide dignified personal care, ensuring clients feel respected and independent.
  • Apply specialized Teepa Snow dementia care techniques when needed.
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate presence in the client’s home.
  • Observe and report client changes, collaborating with our office team to proactively adjust care plans.
  • Become a valued part of the client’s life, providing continuity, support, and companionship.
  • Provide essential support with daily living, like personal care, meal prep, and medication monitoring.
  • Offer a much-needed break for families.
  • Lend a hand with errands and light housekeeping to keep homes safe and comfortable.
  • Be a trusted companion who ensures our clients feel cared for, valued, and never alone.
  • Live 24/7 in a client’s home on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation.
  • Assist clients with personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and companionship during daytime hours.
  • Sleep in a designated room in the client's home at night while being available for emergencies.
  • Enhance the client’s quality of life by promoting independence, dignity, social, emotional, and physical well-being.
