About The Position
Visiting Angels is a trusted name in senior home care, providing elder care services since 1998. The Southern Shenandoah Valley office is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As a Visiting Angels caregiver, you will help make life at home safer, happier, and more comfortable for seniors. We are looking for companion care providers, personal care providers, home health aides, and skilled care professionals. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- PCA (personal care aide), Nurse Aide Course Completion Certificate, or CNA (certified nursing assistant) license
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
- Auto Insurance
- Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
- Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
- Supportive and compassionate
- Take pride in providing high quality care
- Must pass a state-mandated criminal background check, reference check, and drug screen
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year) preferred
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
- Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with ADLs and iADLs to clients
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Transportation to & from appointments (typically in client's vehicle)
- Assist with errands
- Provide warm, friendly companionship
