About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly Live Haul Driver. This position starts at $28.85/HR. We are seeking candidates to fill two Animal Transport Driver positions. These positions require a safe, efficient tractor trailer driver with a positive attitude to make mostly regional runs (SE Iowa and Western Illinois) scheduled Monday through Friday during 1st shift operations. Depending on needs and delivery schedules, the drivers within this department also deliver feed loads out of the Oakville Feed Mill.

Requirements

• Valid CDL
• Proven safe driving history
• Ability to work and communicate effectively
• Physically able to safely and efficiently load /unload weaned pigs and/or culled sows into trailer and appropriate compartments
• Physically able to safely and efficiently wash and disinfect tractor/trailers on a daily basis
• Able to interact positively with TriOak Sow Farm Employees on a daily basis
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers / managers in order to promote teamwork
• Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
• Good attendance
• Valid CDL-A with a good, safe driving record
• Willing to perform other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor
• Able to follow safety rules and bio-security regulations setup by TriOak Foods
• Work history, positive attitude, employee driving history, driver’s record
• Willingness to listen and learn
• Ability to be a team player
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment

• A valid driver’s license is required (must maintain a safe driving record)
• Valid Class “A or B” driver’s license and be insurable on the company program

• Able to work in adverse outside conditions when temperatures may range from above 100 degrees to 0 degrees and below, for the entire workday
• Able to drive under adverse road conditions in order to complete all deliveries
• Ability to scale several types of ladders, such as bin ladders, and truck ladders
• Able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly
• Dependable, self-motivating, and willing to work
• Able to pass random DOT drug and alcohol screenings and tests
• In relatively good physical and mental condition
• Able to maintain balance on all types of surfaces including slippery surfaces
• Able to retain written and spoken instructions
• Willing to work long flexible hours, if necessary, to meet the expectations of the job

Responsibilities

• Driving safely to scheduled sow farms for loading weaned and / or culled pigs
• Coordination of safe loading and accurate counts
• Delivery to local grower farms
• Safe unloading
• Tractor/trailer cleanup including washing as needed
