About The Position

The Live Hanger discerns between live and dead chickens and hangs the live chickens on moving shackles. The role involves working in a fast-paced setting and hanging live chickens weighing 2–5 pounds on every fifth shackle. The employee must follow George’s policies and procedures, as well as applicable animal welfare laws and regulations. This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time.
• Ability to work in a dimly lighted area shoulder to shoulder with other employees.
• Ability to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang it on a shackle at shoulder height.
• Ability to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken.
