About The Position

Portland Public Schools’ seeks an innovative and passionate individual to join our preschool team to enhance the education experience for our students enrolled in Little Raiders Great Start Readiness Program at Portland Public Schools. The desired candidate would possess the following attributes: Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor. Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for students, families, and staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, implementing and monitoring curriculum.
Engage with children in all areas of the program and parts of the day.
Work collaboratively and communicate with teaching team partner regarding children’s behavior and progress.
Assist children with personal health care needs, including toileting.
Participate in training and ongoing professional development.
Assist to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with young children and their families.
Ability to work well with diverse families.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
Regular and consistent attendance.
Ability to pass a Comprehensive background check per DHHS licensing.
Other duties as assigned.
