About The Position

The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses. This position is with the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). WCB provides timely and impartial resolution of disputes arising under the Workers' Compensation Law and Oregon Safe Employment Act. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This position is eligible to telework on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular, scheduled office hours are also required.

Requirements

  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data OR An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of KOFAX or a similar indexing software
  • Familiarity with NetCenter, WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT and OUTLOOK software applications
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize well

Responsibilities

  • Coding dismissed and withdrawn or other litigation
  • Maintaining the closed file records until destruction
  • Coordinating the destruction process and acting as a liaison between WCB, other DCBS divisions, and state agencies with regard to WCB final records
