About The Position

Equivity is seeking a skilled Arizona Litigation Paralegal to join their remote legal team. This role is for an individual who enjoys taking ownership of litigation matters from start to finish and has a strong foundation in Arizona civil litigation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and confident in navigating Arizona court procedures, supporting attorneys through all stages of the case lifecycle.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience working for an Arizona law firm
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Significant experience supporting Arizona civil litigation matters
  • Working knowledge of the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Experience managing litigation timelines, including disclosures, discovery, motions, and trial deadlines
  • Hands-on experience preparing and filing documents in Arizona state courts
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters independently
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and general legal technology
  • Availability to work at least 20 hours per week initially
  • Responsiveness during standard business hours (9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET), typically within one hour
  • A Windows-based computer is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with legal practice management platforms such as Clio, MyCase, or similar systems
  • Criminal defense litigation experience
  • Familiarity with the Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure
  • Knowledge of the Arizona Enabling Act
  • Experience supporting attorneys with both civil and criminal matters
  • Trial preparation experience

Responsibilities

  • Preparing pleadings, motions, discovery responses, disclosures, notices, correspondence, and other litigation documents
  • Filing documents electronically with Arizona state courts while ensuring compliance with court rules
  • Maintaining organized electronic case files and supporting documentation
  • Coordinating discovery, document production, and case-related materials
  • Monitoring litigation deadlines and maintaining accurate case calendars
  • Assisting with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibits, witness files, and trial notebooks
  • Communicating professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Performing procedural and factual research to support active matters
  • Adapting to different attorney preferences, practice styles, and case management platforms
