Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our in-house Legal team. This role will support the management of litigation, investigations, and pre-litigation matters across the company’s global operations. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the litigation process, particularly within the healthcare or life sciences industry, and thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification (or equivalent experience) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with at least 2 years in a corporate legal department or law firm supporting corporate clients.
  • Strong knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, discovery obligations, and court procedures (state and federal).
  • Significant experience in responding to subpoenas and record requests.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with litigation support tools (e.g., Relativity, CounselLink, CaseMap, NetDocuments) and eDiscovery platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including optimism, diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout the company.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting litigation matters in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or broader life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, product liability defense, and cross-border litigation.
  • Experience coordinating responses to government inquiries and regulatory investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing a broad range of litigation matters, including product liability, commercial disputes, employment claims, and regulatory investigations.
  • Work directly with outside counsel to coordinate discovery, document collection, and litigation hold processes.
  • Organize and maintain litigation files, pleadings, and correspondence in accordance with legal department protocols.
  • Support internal fact-finding and investigations, including employee interviews, records reviews, and preparation of summaries.
  • Lead the effort with respect to subpoena responses, records requests and internal investigations.
  • Manage document productions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and litigation trackers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Product Development, HR, and IT to gather information and coordinate responses.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of litigation management protocols, templates, and best practices.
  • Support budgeting, legal spend tracking, and invoice review for litigation matters.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
