Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of directly applicable litigation paralegal experience
  • Working knowledge of legal terminology
  • Substantive e-filing experience
  • Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software applications (including e-filing platforms)

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting attorneys with all phases of commercial litigation matters, including drafting, revising, proofreading, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Managing and maintaining case files, calendars, and deadlines
  • Coordinating and overseeing document productions, including organizing, reviewing, indexing, and preparing exhibits
  • Scheduling depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and expert consultations
  • Conducting factual and legal research, cite-checking, and investigation support as directed by attorneys
  • Filing documents electronically in state and federal courts and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and procedures
  • Communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and experts
  • Assisting with trial preparation
  • Organizing and summarizing medical, financial, business, and corporate records
  • Monitoring litigation deadlines and assisting with docketing and case management systems, along with other tasks as assigned
  • Tracking billable time and assisting with matter budgeting and cost management
