About The Position

DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel to join its Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup. This position is open to multiple office locations including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, DC, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Short Hills, and Wilmington. The role requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes, along with experience in M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations. The position involves communicating with clients, supervising associates, collaborating with experts, assisting with fact development and depositions, reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and developing case strategy.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes
  • Experience with M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations
  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills are highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, are a must.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize is also required.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail is critical to success.

  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.
