About The Position

A well-established boutique law firm with an active litigation practice in downtown Kansas City is seeking a contract Litigation Attorney to support their caseload as needed. They are a small office with experienced attorneys and staff that handles commercial litigation matters for a clientele largely compromised of entrepreneurs and small and mid-sized businesses. They do most of their work on the plaintiff’s side on both a contingent-fee and hourly basis. Although this is a remote position, some in-office work may be required so you must be located within an easy driving distance of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Requirements

• Must be a strong writer, researcher and communicator
• Able to interact confidently and professionally with clients and other attorneys
• Licensed to practice in either Kansas or Missouri
• At least 3 years of experience in litigation

Nice To Haves

• Ideal candidate is someone with more experience who has decided to step away from full-time legal work.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal filings
• Draft legal memoranda
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Interact with and gather information from clients and potential clients
• Review documents
