Requirements

Licensed to practice law in State of Texas
3 to 5 years of litigation and trial experience in Texas personal injury cases
2nd Chair Experience (required)
Experience handling contested motions
Experience taking and defending depositions of parties and experts
Experience at mediation in personal injury cases
Willing to work a pre -litigation caseload while building up a full litigation docket
Computer literate and familiar with document drafting and e-filing
Available to work more than 40 hours per week, as needed
Light travel throughout Texas
Excellent written and verbal communication
Efficient and effective with overall time management
Determined to learn and adapt in a high-paced atmosphere
Able to multi-task and handle a high-volume litigation docket
Detail oriented
Strategic thinker
Aggressive advocate

Nice To Haves

1st Chair Experience (preferred)
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Direct legal decisions throughout all phases of litigation process
Understand the applicability of laws and statutes to the potential recovery of each case
Communicate with clients and medical providers to ensure the highest quality medical care for clients
Negotiate personal injury settlements
Depose parties and fact and expert witnesses
Aggressively pursue advantageous litigation tactics for the advancement of settlement position or trial
Draft and argue motions
Attend mediation
Make court appearances on behalf of the firm
Prepare for and attend trial as 1st or 2nd chair as appropriate
