About The Position

Our Los Angeles Litigation Department is a dynamic and growing group of experienced commercial litigators specializing in the film, television, and video game industries. We are seeking a highly motivated litigation associate who is eager for hands-on responsibility, approaches their work with urgency, and is committed to excellence. The ideal candidate should be a thought-partner in the development and execution of litigation strategies and must demonstrate a desire to push outside their comfort zone by engaging in front-line litigation work.

Requirements

Highly-experienced in federal and California civil procedure.
Ability to work independently.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, strong writing and organizational skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, pragmatism, judgment and the ability to problem solve.
Membership in the California Bar is required.
Strong academic credentials.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with ADR procedures (e.g., JAMS, AAA, IFTA) a plus.

Responsibilities

Proactively manage deadlines across multiple clients and matters.
Communicate with clients and colleagues in an effective and timely manner.
Conduct legal research and analysis, with an ability to explain complicated concepts in a straightforward and accessible way.
Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and examine witnesses at trial.
Prepare clear, persuasive, and well-organized letters, pleadings, and motions.
Draft strategic discovery requests and responses; review documents efficiently with the goal of case analysis and trial preparation.
Demonstrate comfort in speaking and leading discussion, including with clients and internally.
