About The Position

The Morristown, NJ office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks a Litigation Associate with at least three to four years of litigation experience to work on complex commercial and consumer products litigation matters. Candidates will ideally have experience in product liability and mass torts and/or in commercial litigation. Experience defending pharmaceutical products, medical devices, or consumer health or consumer facing products is preferred. Barnes & Thornburg LLP is an AmLaw 100 firm with 26 offices. Requirements

• Three to four (may consider 5) years of litigation experience, specifically in product liability and torts and/or complex commercial litigation.
• Strong New Jersey state court experience required.
• Admission to the NJ bar.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Strong drive and ability to work independently but also work well within a large, collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in product liability and mass torts and/or in commercial litigation.
• Experience defending pharmaceutical products, medical devices, or consumer health or consumer facing products.
• Experience with Multidistrict Litigation (MDLs) and class actions.
• Federal court experience preferred.
• Experience in trial or trial preparation.
• Will also consider federal or appellate court clerks.
• Admission to the NY bar a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex commercial and consumer products litigation matters.
• Defend pharmaceutical products, medical devices, or consumer health or consumer facing products.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion drafting, hearings, and trial or trial preparation.
