About The Position

Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Administrative Assistant with five years of experience to join its national litigation team in the Washington, D.C. office. This role provides comprehensive, high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys in a fast-paced environment and is critical to ensuring the efficient management of day-to-day practice operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of litigation legal administrative experience within a law firm
  • Experience with state and federal e-filing, including familiarity with DC, MD, and VA courts preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with document management, billing, and time entry systems
  • Strong litigation support experience
  • Ability to independently manage a busy desk with confidence and accuracy
  • Excellent judgment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive approach to supporting attorneys and contributing to a positive, team-oriented office culture
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support, including preparing, revising, and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents.
  • Manage electronic and court filings across state and federal jurisdictions, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Coordinate depositions, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain attorney calendars.
  • Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reporting.
  • Run conflict checks.
  • Open new matters.
  • Maintain client files.
  • Support overall practice operations by anticipating next steps and ensuring deadlines and priorities are effectively managed.
