The Litigation Account Specialist will be responsible for servicing clients on past due accounts and performing preliminary research on unidentified payments. They will use independent judgment to make surface decisions and resolve some situations. The chosen candidate will learn and perform one or more of the following functions: Maintaining compliance with FDCPA and state regulations, placing accounts referred for litigation with an active attorney firm, monitoring litigation cases and following up with OneMain attorneys, taking inbound calls from customers and third parties regarding the status of an active or inactive litigation account, maintaining account documentation and following up as necessary, providing outstanding customer service to customers, 3rd parties, and OneMain employees, providing analysis on unidentified payments, misapplied payments, as well as system rejects and processing payments, processing vendor invoices while staying within 30-day compliance, processing paid/settled accounts and completing balance research, completing manual or requesting judgment satisfactions on settled/paid accounts and following up with courts/attorney firms, analyzing customer and branch needs/requests and making determinations as to the best method of resolving those issues, communicating with OneMain personnel (branch, headquarters, central servicing), and vendors, processing incoming and returned physical mail, and processing electronic mail (email, fax, etc.).
