About The Position
The Literacy tutor works with students in grades K-3 in small groups of students of five or less, who have been identified as needing additional support in early literacy.
Requirements
- Ability to relate to children, teacher, and other school staff
- Knowledge of educational evidence-based best practices in education
- Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Teacher licensure in grades K-8 preferred. License must be an active Virginia license to receive the licensed rate.
Responsibilities
- Works side by side with the school reading specialists to help students improve early literacy skills, including phonemic awareness and fluency.
