At Really Great Reading, we are building a bright, diverse, and passionate team dedicated to leading the industry in improving literacy scores nationwide. With nearly two decades of leadership bringing the Science of Reading to thousands of schools, we design innovative products, training, and materials that transform how educators teach and how students learn. Here, we empower our team with the tools, support, and professional growth opportunities they need to thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment—where your work truly makes a difference. Middle school is a critical crossroads for students struggling with reading, and effective literacy instruction can change the trajectory for students who have spent years falling behind. As a Literacy Coach, you will work directly with educators to strengthen instruction, build their capacity, and deliver effective reading interventions. By combining hands-on coaching with student and implementation data, you will help teachers identify what students need, adjust their approach, and focus support where it can have the greatest impact. Success in this role means teachers are strengthening their literacy instruction, coaching and support are responsive to what the data shows, and students who are struggling with reading are making measurable progress. As a Literacy Coach, you'll work with teachers in schools across our Indiana partner districts. Your job is to help them teach reading better through on-site coaching, professional learning, modeling, co-planning, and day-to-day support. The work is divided between time in schools and time analyzing data. You'll be in classrooms with teachers, and you'll also spend time reviewing student growth and implementation data to figure out where your support is needed most. You’ll use that data to determine where your time and support are needed most, so the schools and classrooms with the greatest need get the most attention. This is a remote role with regular school visits. You'll work from home part of the time and drive to your assigned schools the rest of the time. You won't be based in one building. Coaches are employed by RGR and work in partnership with schools, so you would not be an employee of the districts you support. Locations served: Medora, Lakeland (LaGrange), North Gibson (Princeton), and South Bend, Indiana. Candidates must live within a 30-minute drive of schools in one of these areas. School visits are scheduled based on need and may occasionally require short-notice availability, so proximity to your assigned schools is essential. Term: One-year assignment, renewable based on performance and continued need. Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week. School hours generally fall during the instructional day. Some days require afternoon availability for scheduled professional development.
