About The Position

The LISTOS Intern is a student employment position that provides experiential learning opportunities in natural resource management and related disciplines. Students will be placed with approved internship hosts to support ongoing projects and gain professional experience aligned with academic and career pathways.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a student at UNM-Taos (or approved partner institution)
  • Must be an active participant in the LISTOS program
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours during the summer term (tuition supported by the LISTOS grant)
  • Must meet all University student employment eligibility requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or interest in natural resource management, biology, environmental science, or related fields
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in outdoor and/or field-based environments
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in the Fall semester

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with fieldwork such as data collection, monitoring, and resource management activities
  • Supporting administrative or technical tasks, including data entry and reporting
  • Participating in training and professional development activities
  • Communicating and collaborating with supervisors and team members
  • Adhering to safety guidelines, policies, and procedures of the host organization
