About The Position

Don's & Ben's Liquor is seeking a hard-working, reliable store clerk with excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with the public. The clerk creates a welcoming environment and supports store operations by receiving and stocking merchandise, greeting customers, helping them locate products, and answering questions about products and services.

The role includes cashiering, store cleaning and maintenance, stocking liquor, beer, and wine, helping with inventory counts, and enforcing TABC and liquor laws. The position is for a Monday-through-Saturday shift at 306 Valley Hi Drive, #101, San Antonio, TX 78227.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation and be reliable and punctual.
• Six months of proven experience as a cashier or in customer service or the retail industry.
• Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, engaging attitude.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the store, including the outside perimeter.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds to waist level and bend down repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide exceptional, prompt, and friendly customer service.
• Help customers find products and make purchasing decisions.
• Process cash and credit transactions accurately using cash registers.
• Keep checkout areas clean and tidy and perform store maintenance, including sanitizing, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping as needed.
• Receive and stock merchandise, including liquor, beer, and wine.
• Assist with inventory counts when necessary.
• Enforce TABC and liquor laws, including checking IDs, and follow company policies and procedures.
• Open or close the store on time according to its hours of operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain an effective and profitable store operation.
