About The Position

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) is seeking an experienced leader to manage a busy store in Salt Lake City, Utah. Requirements

  • Experience managing a fast paced retail store.
  • Capable of bringing out the best in their employees.
  • Ability to ensure that customers receive exceptional service.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Successfully pass a background check.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule Monday - Saturday between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the operations of a State Liquor Store.
  • Maintain a strong leadership presence in the store.
  • Supervise all store personnel, including hiring, determining workload, delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
  • Contribute to the department's service-focused mission by providing superior customer service.
  • Perform cash control duties, including setting up and closing cash registers and preparing deposits.
  • Maintain inventory reports and conduct regular and/or spot check inventories.
  • Prioritize, plan, and adjust schedules and maintain employee leave and payroll records.
  • Evaluate employee performance.
  • Ensure that there is an adequate supply of materials available. Order, receive, inspect, and store equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.
  • Resolve potential confrontational issues appropriately when dealing with intoxicated individuals, shoplifters, etc.
  • Verify that cash intake matches sales and inventory activity.
  • Receive and record cash payments; process related paperwork.
  • Display new items and existing stock.
  • Assist customers in finding products, making selections and purchasing items.
  • Receive and fill liquor orders for licensees and customers as required.
  • Gather data, prepare reports or summarize information.
  • Ensure staff is trained to prohibit sales to minors.
