About The Position
Brookhaven Market is looking for a full-time Liquor Department Manager to keep our liquor department running smoothly, stocked smartly, and shopped happily—right here onsite in Burr Ridge, IL. This role exists to deliver a standout selection while staying buttoned-up on alcohol laws and company standards.
Requirements
- Retail experience (liquor sales preferred)
- Supervisory experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
- Excellent organization, communication, and leadership skills
- Able to stand/walk for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be 21+ years of age
Responsibilities
- Managing daily department operations
- Maintaining inventory levels
- Ordering and receiving deliveries
- Building clean, attention-grabbing displays
- Running seasonal promotions
- Tracking sales, margin, and shrink to hit department goals
- Providing friendly, spot-on product recommendations
- Checking what sold through, what’s running low, and what needs a quick tidy
- Organizing deliveries and vendor questions
- Helping shoppers pick a bottle that fits the occasion
- Fine-tuning endcaps and seasonal features
- Keeping an eye on numbers and notes—what’s working, what’s not, and what to adjust for tomorrow
- Wrapping up with a department that’s ready for the next rush
