About The Position

North Central Co-op is a member-owned, sustainable organization that serves local communities within Stony Plain, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Legal, Sherwood Park, and Edson. With over 100,000 member-owners and 650+ team members across 20+ Gas Bars, Home Centre, 4 Cardlock/Bulk Fuel Stations, 6 Food Stores, 6 Liquor Stores, and an Administration Office, the Co-op is committed to delivering profits back to its communities and investing in sustainable growth. This position is for a part-time Liquor Clerk at the Chappelle Liquor Store in Edmonton, AB. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, maintaining safe and efficient operations, and adhering to all company policies and regulatory requirements related to alcohol sales. Requirements

  • Are 18 years or older
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Have the ability to lift and move up to 20lbs consistently when stocking
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Open availability is an asset
  • Previous liquor retail/cashier and customer service experience would be an asset
  • WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) training would be an asset
  • Inventory/Merchandising/Stocking experience would be an asset
  • ProServe Liquor Staff Training would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible to provide an exceptional level of customer service
  • maintain a safe and efficient operation
  • adhere to all company policies, procedures and standards, as well as all regulatory requirements relating to the service and/or sale of alcohol
  • handling and recording transactions through the point of sale terminal
  • processing and packaging customer purchases
  • organizing, cleaning, and stocking merchandise
  • preparing daily cash reconciliations
  • completing general housekeeping duties
  • assisting team members when necessary
  • any other duties as assigned
