About The Position

Vantor is seeking a cleared Systems Engineer to join a mission-critical intelligence organization. This role involves building a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment from the ground up, providing full lifecycle support for compute, network, and storage infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Linux Administrators, DevOps & Infrastructure Engineers, and other Systems Engineers, to support computational design elements involving high-performing Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and their integration into a new platform. The work directly impacts national security and global issues, offering exposure to advanced technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced data analytics within a dynamic and technologically advanced environment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or related technical field. Relevant professional experience can substitute in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in System Administration or systems engineering in a Linux-heavy environment.
  • Experience supporting DevOps Infrastructure
  • Experience in the build, operations, and sustainment of LAN/WAN networks
  • Experience Implementing DOD Cyber Security requirements.
  • Experience with physical compute and networking hardware
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and evaluating alternatives to solve complex problems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Infiband networks and configuration
  • Experience with Juniper Network and Security Platforms
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the above technical qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and sustain Linux operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Assist in the design and provisioning of the enterprise network environment.
  • Prepare and deliver both program and user level documentation for system operations.
  • Provide technical systems support for project activities.
  • Monitor for performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Interact with members of the technical team leads.
  • Understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications and be able to use experience to recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development.
  • Communicate and share expertise within and across the client’s organizational boundaries.
  • Work both independently and in small groups.
