CACI is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator II to perform system administration functions in support of a critical mission based in Fort Meade, MD. Requirements

  • Proficient with Linux, including hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent Linux system administration experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Experience patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
  • Virtualization/VM experience.
  • COMPTIA Security+ certification.
  • Ten (10) years experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Dell and HPE Linux servers; Juniper and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; Palo Alto firewalls; Ansible; Nutanix – VM management; Rubrik – data storage; Nomad containers; SALT scripts; LibreNMS; NetBox.
  • CSP (Cloud Service Provider) – AWS and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day‑to‑day Linux system administration tasks across enterprise environments.
  • Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers and associated services.
  • Monitor, patch, and upgrade Linux servers and network‑connected resources (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Maintain and upgrade virtualized environments, including VMs and underlying hardware resources.
  • Implement and support security compliance controls and document non‑applicable items as required.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and integration of new or replacement Linux‑based hardware and software.
  • Integrate hardware/software solutions into existing network infrastructure.
  • Support the decommissioning and removal of outdated or replaced systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system inventory changes and configuration updates.
