About The Position

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to provide support to a mission-critical enterprise identity and access management environment. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline. The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of services offered to external organizations, provide lifecycle systems engineering support spanning development and operations, and apply a combination of technical and functional expertise to recommend solutions that satisfy customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) including S3 Buckets, EC2, and Reserved Instances
  • Troubleshooting network-related issues at OSI model layers 4-7
  • Linux system administration and infrastructure management best practices
  • Systems engineering documentation including network diagrams and data flow diagrams
  • Agile team collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Active Top Secret security clearance; must meet SCI eligibility
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline after hire
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Security+ certification (current, required before start)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Tier II personnel in resolving customer-facing issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and mitigation for operational issues.
  • Communicate findings with stakeholders to establish a feedback loop with development.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) reviewing user metrics, system health, and overall performance.
  • Implement proactive measures to support operational availability.
  • Develop scripts for operational tasks.
  • Utilize playbook-based automation processes.
  • Manage COTS and GOTS software products across multiple environments.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security services and applications.
  • Interface with customers and external technical teams to diagnose and resolve access issues.
