About The Position

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux System Administrator to support a high-priority intelligence community program. This role requires an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and a willingness to obtain a polygraph within the customer's required timeline. The selected candidate will administer and maintain Linux environments across multiple operational and development contexts, supporting both mission continuity and cloud-forward initiatives. U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Linux system administration, including configuration management and performance monitoring
  • Administration of Atlassian Jira and Confluence in an Agile collaboration environment
  • RocketChat administration and user account management
  • System availability management, including failover coordination across availability zones or data centers
  • Patch and upgrade testing in operational environments
  • Incident documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action reporting
  • Development of user guides, operational procedures, and custom Linux scripts
  • Ability to work a Panama shift schedule including weekends and holidays
  • CompTIA Security+ (active certification required prior to start)
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a polygraph within the customer's required timeline
  • U.S. citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • AWS or other cloud service provider experience and cloud-based architecture knowledge
  • Familiarity with cross-domain architectures across multiple classification levels
  • Experience with automated testing and monitoring tools
  • Experience with Engineering Review Boards and Change Management processes

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Linux systems across multiple program environments to support operational and development needs, including cloud initiatives aligned to evolving customer requirements.
  • Administer collaboration applications such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and RocketChat.
  • Manage user accounts and resolve application access issues.
  • Monitor system performance, respond to anomalies, and independently implement configuration changes to maintain high system availability.
  • Coordinate with enterprise partners during outages and make failover decisions across availability zones or data centers.
  • Perform system checkouts and test upgrades and patches in operational environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements in partnership with Enterprise Services.
  • Document incidents, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Develop user guides and operational procedures for program tools including custom Linux scripts and tailored COTS products.
