We are seeking an experienced Linux professional to manage, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based infrastructure across classified and unclassified environments. This role involves administering Linux/UNIX servers and workstations in virtualized settings, overseeing system performance and security, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and availability of all Linux systems. You will work on migrations from Solaris to Linux, troubleshoot issues across Linux and Windows servers, and manage NAS/SAN storage and virtualization technologies. The position requires strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Perl to support automation and tool development. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining Linux operating systems and related software, designing and improving tools for the Linux environment, performing backups and recovery operations, and documenting system configurations and updates.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Security+ certification
  • Experience administering Linux servers (RHEL and Ubuntu preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Linux security and system administration
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Experience troubleshooting server and infrastructure issues
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation
  • Must have the ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance
