About The Position

Support NSWC Carderock by maintaining its Linux infrastructure and helping ensure combat readiness through the application of technology. The role covers Linux server administration, automation, security and compliance, troubleshooting, storage, containerization, virtualization, and infrastructure design.

The position requires a Top Secret clearance and is a regular, full-time role with no travel required. Requirements

• At least 8 years of Linux administration experience.
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
• Advanced scripting and troubleshooting skills, including Ansible playbooks, Bash, and Python.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, and DNS.
• Strong command-line interface proficiency.
• Top Secret clearance required to start.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of experience working with Ansible.
• Advanced Perl scripting.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Linux servers.
• Write and update custom kickstart images.
• Manage the full patch lifecycle using Satellite server.
• Support application deployments and enterprise automation involving AAP, Satellite, IDM, and Splunk.
• Perform security hardening, STIG remediation, and compliance work involving RMF and DISA STIGs.
• Conduct root cause analysis of complex outages.
• Perform forensics and log correlation.
• Troubleshoot at the kernel level.
• Support containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Create architecture documentation.
• Perform storage engineering involving SAN/NAS and multipathing.
• Design and harden infrastructure.
• Design high-availability and clustering solutions.
• Work with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
