About The Position

Support NSWC Carderock by maintaining its Linux infrastructure and helping ensure combat readiness through the application of technology. The role includes Linux server administration, automation and application deployment support, security hardening and compliance, troubleshooting, storage and virtualization work, and infrastructure design.

Requirements

8+ years of experience working in Linux administration.
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
Advanced scripting and troubleshooting skills, including Ansible playbooks, Bash, and Python.
Strong networking fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, and DNS.
Strong command-line interface proficiency.
Top Secret clearance required to start.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience working with Ansible.
Advanced scripting in Perl.

Responsibilities

Install and configure Linux servers.
Write and update custom kickstart images.
Manage the full patch-management lifecycle using Satellite Server.
Support application deployments and enterprise automation using AAP, Satellite, IDM, and Splunk.
Perform security hardening and STIG remediation, and support compliance frameworks including RMF and DISA STIGs.
Conduct root-cause analysis of complex outages.
Perform forensics and log correlation.
Troubleshoot at the kernel level.
Support containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
Integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
Create architecture documentation.
Perform storage engineering for SAN/NAS and multipathing.
Design and harden infrastructure.
Design high-availability and clustering solutions.
Work with virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V.
