About The Position

The Linux Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Centric team member will be responsible for overseeing the Linux/Unix engineering and operations team. This role involves managing the build and support of operating systems, including Linux (Red Hat), Cloud AWS, and Unix (AIX). The engineer will ensure the team's efficiency in handling hardware support, vulnerability patch management, security, risk, and compliance for supported platforms. Additionally, the role includes leading automation efforts and providing project support for various initiatives. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ year experience
  • Proven experience in managing Linux/Unix engineering and operations teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux (Red Hat), and Cloud AWS, Unix (AIX).
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization,
  • Experience with hardware support for IBM pSeries (AIX)
  • Proficiency in vulnerability patch management and compliance with technical security standards.
  • Experience with automation platforms like Ansible, and Terraform
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Linux, AWS, or related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of security and risk management protocols.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Linux/Unix engineering and operations SME

  • Ensure hardware support for IBM pSeries (AIX).
  • Manage vulnerability patch management and ensure compliance with technical security standards.

  • Provide engineering and support for automation efforts on supported platforms.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support project initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze support requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

  • Lead efforts to migrate systems and decommission outdated platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with security and risk management protocols.
