About The Position

MGIC is seeking a highly motivated Linux Engineer / DevOps Engineer to support and modernize our enterprise infrastructure platforms. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Linux, cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement. You will work alongside Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, and Application teams to build, automate, and support critical platforms running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, improve operational excellence, and help drive MGIC's cloud and automation strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience using: Ansible, Terraform, Git, Bash or Python scripting, CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Experience troubleshooting production systems and critical incidents.

Nice To Haves

  • RHCSA or RHCE certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or EKS.
  • Experience with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or NGINX.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk or CloudWatch.
  • LDAP and Active Directory experience is highly desirable, including authentication, SSO, Kerberos, LDAPS, and directory service integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and CloudFormation).
  • Automate server provisioning and configuration management using Ansible.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux, cloud, networking, and application issues.
  • Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and improve reliability.
  • Implement security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Support enterprise authentication integrations including LDAP and Active Directory.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
