About The Position

The Lining Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining equipment including steam generators, UV light trains, boiler systems, and remote robotic cutters. This full-time, on-site role is based in Lodi, NJ and requires hands-on technical expertise to ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently on sewer and water restoration projects. The Mechanic also calibrates and tests machinery such as pressure gauges and temperature sensors to ensure lining installations meet engineering and safety standards, and works closely with field crews throughout project execution.

Requirements

  • Valid boiler operation certificate with a minimum of two years of relevant boiler maintenance experience.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including heavy equipment maintenance and specialty trailers.
  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with robotic cutting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and protocols in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications or training in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with CIPP lining equipment in a sewer or water rehabilitation environment.
  • Experience in heavy construction or utility work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CIPP lining equipment including steam generators, UV light trains, boiler systems, specialty trailers, and remote robotic cutters.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues across all lining equipment and associated systems.
  • Maintain and manage steam boiler systems in compliance with applicable safety codes, state regulations, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Calibrate and test pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and related instrumentation to verify that lining installations meet engineering and safety specifications.
  • Set up, service, and repair remote robotic cutting equipment used for lateral reinstatement following CIPP installation.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to guide diagnosis and repair procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, calibration results, and equipment condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and confined space procedures at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with field crews to ensure equipment is ready and available for each project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.
